What I am looking for is what I will see! – part3

Trust you had a chance to check out the earlier post on – What I am looking for is what I will see! – part1 and part2. We pick up from there in this post to further shed some light onto the simple event of being conscious about the El Camino Real bells by the street, bring them to our vision, just by being open to finding them and being more conscious about them. Ironically, this “highway” is pretty big and historic as its all the way from San Diego to San Francisco!

When we build our personality, its likely that it is built from our environment and our experiences of life. No wonder, its a pity so many of us spend our lives building this so called “I” that we hold onto so much and the very “I” is also changing over the years, as we are not the same we were several years ago, and yet we hold onto the current “I” as a sacred “I”, which does not have to or want to change for the better! How sad right?  and yet the secret seemingly is to change slowly to make more and more choices that feed the right wolf. As we do so, we may see more Bells in our Highway of life and perhaps hear more bells in our everyday situations…

So, the question is – What am I seeing today in my life?

Is it  Grief? Despair? Strife? Arguments? Frustrations? – Why you think? While the same life situations for another person are producing Patience and Joy and love and Peace! One wonders why one cannot get a good looking girl to dance with him and yet one keeps putting the thoughts that he is not too good looking to get the good looking girl to dance…. Does that close the loop from part1 of this series?

So, also in anything in life, be it work, or study, or love or relationships or sport or even spiritual growth, if we look for and have attention on things we like to see, what we like to see will show up at the door. Perhaps in some way, the ask and you will receive, seek and you will find and knock and the door will be opened unto you take on practical and tangible meaning, i hope…

What I am looking for is what I will see! – part2

Trust you had a chance to check out the earlier post on – What I am looking for is what I will see! – part1. We pick up from there in this post, especially as pertaining to this example of how when i was attentive to the historic bells on the streets, i started seeing more of them. So, also in life, its my belief that what we spend our attention on and thoughts on, those things will remain stronger and longer with us.

I recall several years ago, despite being a good engineer and worker, I harped on how bad life was in this profession and guess what i got? Are we to be careful what we put into our minds and think about over and over…Which is why I guess prophet Isaiah tells us that – Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee

Talk about where your attention is and what you look for, will show up. Talk about knock and the door will be opened! Talk about putting your energy and attention to the things you want in your life and they will show up in time…

While its hard for all of us to make changes, the alternative can be devastating and hence riding the super-laws or as i call them eternal spiritual principles, one can be more assured of results consistent with the principles. Both are possible; being miserable, angry, upset, impatient, irritable, un-appreciative and more on one hand or on the other hand, being appreciative, positive, grateful and thankful and trying hard to make change and help others and get become the practical part of spiritual concepts we hear and learn about. This change and growth is just awesome.

Which wolf am I feeding?

While some cirumstances and situations are beyond our control, yet we are constantly bombarded to make decisions and take actions. Mostly, what we think, do and act and react play a key role in who we are for today and where we are headed for tomorrow. Also, where we go in our physical health and the mental calmness we develop dealing with difficult and disruptive situations in life and work and also spiritual growth to be deeply appreciative of blessings we have; are all perhaps the fruits of what thoughts we entertain in our heads months and years before… What we give attention to and energy, will always show up more and more in our lives!

Many have heard of the good angel and bad angel that talk to us all the time. Likewise, the Indians, as in American Indians, have a story about wolves that we feed, that inturn get to manifest in our lives. While my heart wants to do the things that the right wolf displays, my mind drives  from the left wolf! Why i ask? Fortunately, in time, right wolf is taking over, more and more… I still have miles to go but am a  work in progress with attention on the right wolf. So much so that things that were impossible few years ago are a lot easier with choices that entertain the right wolf. But i guess we have to be vigilant and attentive more and more to choices and actions and more importantly even thoughts we entertain daily life events and also quiet time…

Is it the right wolf or the left wolf? Which wolf is winning over more and more in our lives?

Interstingly, the fruit of the Spirit are indeed these that show up in your life… Congrats if you are already there and my support and encouragement if you are headed that way!

What I am looking for is what I will see! – part1

What am i talking about – here? You may say that you are looking for a pretty girl in the bar to dance with you and you never find that. Perfectly valid counter-point but hang with me a few minutes and i will let you answer the questions of this and more….

What i notice again and again in life is that when my attention and energy is spent on something, that thing will expand. Lot of great teachers, philosophers, prophets and even Jesus talks about this topic unequivocably!  In fact, Jesus clearly says many times to put our thoughts on higher things and our heart set on Godly things so we are not myopic in hoarding on to worldly things, where  moth and rust could get to! Some current New-Age talkers are big on the law of attraction, that it brings to you what you think and put in your mind, which is what is also in scripture in many ways and in many places. This is indeed key in direction of our life…

Why am I talkign about this? Because lately, on this El Camino Real we have in the Bay Area, it actually means King’s Highway in Spanish and had bells along the side of the street back in the day, to signal to the community that the King is passing by and even today, supposedly these bells were preserved by the California Dept of Transportation. Yet, even living here for 15+ years, I’ve not seen a single one of these as seen in the picture, either on Hwy 101 or on El Camino Real from San Jose to San Francisco.  but when my friend mentioned this to me 2 months ago, that they are all over along side El Csmino Real and I was more observant and conscious and guess what;  I have seen about 7-10 of them in the last 60 days or so! Goes to show that what you look for is what comes looking for you!

What is Healthy eating self-assessment?

The mind is very easily deceived into thinking that our diets are healthier than they really are. Many people either eat more than they think they have, or do not consume enough healthy foods.

A Healthy eating self-assessment can help a person get a good idea of their true eating habits. Sometimes it is as easy as keeping a food journal over a short period of time or a series of questions about eating habits that can be answered. Either way it helps a person determine if they are indeed consuming a healthy diet or not, so that adjustments can be made appropriately.

As a simple measure replace eating out of boxes, cans, bags and cartons. Eat plenty of freshly cooked vegetables. more from nature and less with man’s intervention. If you can further eat fiber rich vegetables, you get the filling but not the calories.

Reduce the quantity and be conscious and slowly you will look and feel better. A friend came up to me in the gym recently and said he was proud of losing weight in a new way, just by cutting out eating “full” and stuffed and by replacing with fibre-rich vegetables…

Why do we put mercury in our teeth, when we hesitate eating fish?

Dentists have used amalgam in dental fillings for years. The substance is used primarily because it is of low cost to those in the dental profession. Dental amalgam is about half full of mercury. Mercury is the most toxic metal and many believe it causes serious conditions such as Alzheimer’s since it attacks nerve cells. Mercury impairs much of the neurological processes.

It is highly recommended that those who have mercury fillings in the teeth have them removed. Seek out a biological dentist to avoid being further exposed during their removal. Yoga for positive attitude?

Can yoga provide positive outlook? and positive energy in things we do? Some people say it does, other says it helps. Here are a few facts you might find useful.

Obviously most are aware now that there are many physical benefits one can get from practicing yoga as a part of your regular lifestyle. Giving it proper attention can help influence the ability to have a positive outlook on life. More follows in a bit. Once we feel good from working out, or being fit, other things also change such as eating nutritious foods supporting  the body feel well and energetic.

Yoga is about optimizing and utilizing entities that support posture and an extension of it being  in balance with food, water, air and sunlight.  The Yoga helps to create and promote positive energy. Yoga works to improve a person’s ability to thrive mentally as well as physically. Eating healthy foods can help everyone have a positive outlook because it helps the body be free from toxins that could cloud the mind.

 

Yoga breathing techniques help rejuvenate the body and mind. Yoga can help provide confidence and self worth and a sense of connection and relation to other parts around us in how they support the postures. The expression of appreciation of teachers and surroundings, can further teach or prompt the avid student to explore ways to bond well with others and support one another. It does open up doors for learning to be positive even in practice as it helps one to not “chatter” or judge the level of posture but to just “be”…. This, in and of itself could be a great positive experience and a blessing for many of us!

The challenge for most is the fact its very hard to live in the towns and cities we live and do all these things. So, what gives – right?

If you live in a big city, you are highly likely to get ton of toxins and heavy metals every day and every way and you have to go on the offense, there is no easy way out! But you have simple choices you can adopt to detox your body and mind gently and daily!

 

How about taking up meditation? This is a powerful tool to de-stress and awaken and alive-n the mind and all the cells of the body.
