Seven Energy Centers ie Chakras!
There is this power of seven in several things around us! This seen and unseen power in the number seven is amazing as it weaves in and out of science and creation and spirituality! It seems like so many energies and systems in the world are derived from or based on the number seven!
An ice-breaker – In US, we have the 7-11, not 8-11! OK, that was not funny, but i tried!
Actually, lets go then. How about the octaves of sound – they are seven – A – B – C – D – E – F – G.
In chemistry – PH7 is neutral – neither acidic nor alkaline!
There are seven seas as an expression although i believe there are more!
Seven hills of Rome! and Seven hills of Tirupati – sacred place for Hindus…
There are seven wonders of the world!
There is the V-I-B-G-Y-O-R component (rainbow of the white light) – seven!
There are seven deadly sins – Pride, which is a strong selfish view of one’s abilities that blocks out or discredits the acceptance of grace of GOD. It is called the root of all evils. Pride is also called other names such as Ego by the Yogis, False self by the Buddhists, and the old man nature by St. Paul and ironically all of them believe that this is the root cause of all problems. In fact, Pastor Andrew Womack wrote a small book called – Self centeredness, the root of all evil. Awesome read! Anycase, others are lust, greed, envy, gluttony, anger and sloth!
Ironically, there are seven virtues to combat that – Faith, hope, charity, prudence, justice, temperance, fortitude!
The Chinese and Indians have traced the body energies or meridians as the key to energy flow for wellness and energy blockage for illness! The Indians have made that and further built a system around chakras ( major inersection of key energy centers in the boy) – There are seven of them as in Wikipedia!
The short summary of it is listed below as these seven primary chakras are commonly described:
- Muladhara (Sanskrit: ???????, M?l?dh?ra) Base or Root Chakra (last bone in spinal cord *coccyx*)
- Swadhisthana (Sanskrit: ???????????, Sv?dhi??h?na) Sacral Chakra (ovaries/prostate)
- Manipura (Sanskrit: ??????, Ma?ip?ra) Solar Plexus Chakra (navel area)
- Anahata (Sanskrit: ?????, An?hata) Heart Chakra (heart area)
- Vishuddha (Sanskrit: ???????, Vi?uddha) Throat Chakra (throat and neck area)
- Ajna (Sanskrit: ?????, ?jñ?) Brow or Third Eye Chakra (pineal gland or third eye)
- Sahasrara (Sanskrit: ???????, Sahasr?ra) Crown Chakra (Top of the head; ‘Soft spot’ of a newborn)
